Server Rules – SortMC

To keep SortMC a useful and fair platform for everyone, all server listings must follow these rules. Listings that violate these rules may be unlisted or permanently removed at our discretion.

1. Accurate Information

Server name, address, and descriptions must be accurate and truthful.
Do not use placeholder or fake data (e.g. "Example Server", "play.example.com").
The server address must point to a real, reachable Minecraft server.
Game modes and version information must reflect what the server actually offers.

2. Banner & Icon Guidelines

Banners must use a standard size and aspect ratio. Non-standard or distorted images/videos may result in unlisting.
Icons should be square and clearly represent your server.
Images must not contain offensive, explicit, or NSFW content.
Do not use misleading images that do not represent your server.

3. No Spam or Duplicate Listings

Each server may only be listed once. Duplicate listings will be removed.
Do not create multiple listings for the same server under different names.
Descriptions must be meaningful — no repeated text, gibberish, or filler content.
Each user may list a maximum of 3 servers.

4. No Vote Manipulation

Using bots, multiple accounts, or any automated system to inflate votes is strictly prohibited.
Offering in-game rewards that require proof of voting (e.g. vote links) is allowed via Votifier integration.
Fraudulent votes will be removed and repeat offenders will have their listings banned.

5. Appropriate Content

Server listings must not promote illegal activities, hate speech, harassment, or exploitation.
NSFW, adult, or excessively violent content is not permitted in any part of the listing.
Do not impersonate other servers or well-known brands.

6. Ownership

You may only list servers that you own or have explicit permission to list.
If you are not the server owner, you must have authorisation from the owner.

7. Enforcement

If your server listing violates any of these rules:

First offence: Your server will be unlisted with a reason. You will see the reason on your server's page. Edit your listing to address the issue and it will be automatically re-listed.
Repeat offences: Your server may be permanently removed and your account may be restricted.
Severe violations: Listings promoting illegal content or containing explicit material will be removed immediately without warning.
