Terms of Service – SortMC

1. Scope and Acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of SortMC, including the website, server listing tools, voting features, reviews, reports, and related APIs (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Accounts and Access

You need an account to create or manage listings, post reviews, use favourites, or access server-owner API tools.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
You must not create or use accounts to evade restrictions or manipulate rankings.

3. Server Listings

You may only list servers you own or are authorized to represent.
Listing details must be accurate, including server addresses, edition, versions, and descriptions.
You are responsible for uploaded media, social links, and any other content in your listing.
Private listings are supported, but misuse of private listing features to mislead users is prohibited.
We may unlist, edit visibility, or remove listings that violate our rules or these Terms.

4. Voting, Reviews, and Reports

Voting is rate-limited and anti-abuse protected (currently approximately one vote per server per username/IP every 23 hours).
You must not use bots, scripts, proxy networks, or coordinated account abuse to manipulate votes, ratings, or visibility.
Reviews and reports must be honest and not defamatory, abusive, or spam.
We may remove votes, reviews, reports, or listings when abuse is detected.

5. API and Automated Use

Server-owner API keys are confidential. You are responsible for all requests made with your key.
API use is rate-limited (including published limits in our API docs) and may be throttled or blocked to protect platform stability.
Unauthorized scraping, security testing without permission, or abusive automation is prohibited.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Illegal activity, fraud, or impersonation.
Harassment, hate speech, sexual exploitation, or violent threats.
Malware, phishing, deceptive links, or other malicious behavior.
Attempts to disrupt the Service, bypass security controls, or gain unauthorized access.

7. User Content and License

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as listing text, images, and reviews). You grant SortMC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate, promote, and secure the Service.

8. Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including ranking logic, API behavior, or moderation workflows. We may also apply automatic unlisting for listings that stay offline for extended periods.

9. Intellectual Property

SortMC branding, site design, and platform software are protected by intellectual property laws. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios/Microsoft. SortMC is an independent platform and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, listing accuracy, server uptime, or the quality, safety, or legality of third-party servers listed on SortMC.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SortMC and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, or remove content, at our discretion when we believe these Terms or our rules were violated or when needed for legal, security, or operational reasons.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of SortMC after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. The date above shows the latest revision.
